8. They Pay Attention
In this case, you are paying attention to yourself. Many people see each day as a series of events that lead them back to where they started: bed. These people are trying to survive the day and block out their thoughts and feelings. This avoidance ends with unhappiness and poor health.
Healthy people pay attention to their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a process called self-monitoring. This attention is a way to gather information about their experience. If you do not pay attention to yourself, there is no way you can know what you want or need. Without this information, you cannot express yourself appropriately to others.
